If you have never had profound experiences in prayer then I do not see how you can have the Holy Spirit. The fact that Rob Bell's church barely gathers together to pray is undeniable proof this Church is spiritually dead. The main role of the Church is intercession on the corporate level, and that means communal prayer. The upper room was our evidence of this fact. Too often people run out to try to do things about first waiting on God and receiving the Holy Spirit and His direction.

@schizoidali To accuse me of thinking prayer is just "talk" is a false accusation. Actually Paul prayed for THREE DAYS STRAIGHT and that caused his conversion. (Behold, he prays) Even Christ separated himself ENTIRE NIGHTS so he could dedicate them to prayer. When was the last time you prayed ALL NIGHT? But I suppose you are so spiritual that such activity is below you. The idea of prayer does not exclude entire nights of prayer and praying alone for hours on end.

@schizoidali When was the last time you were in prayer and your spirit was drawn into a sort of expanse where time nor space existed and your prayers were so powerful and Christ oriented that you prayed for hours and they only felt like minutes? When was the last revelation/vision/direct experience with God? When was the last time you enjoyed praying more than ANYTHING else? When was the last time you did not want to stop praying and continued to pray for hours?

@schizoidali Show me one scriptures in the Bible that says pray for world peace and I will show you a 1,000 that say pray for sinners. Pray WITHOUT CEASING Pray ALWAYS in the Spirit No, prayer is our spiritual slant and what we are both focused on, striving toward and thinking about. Regardless Rob Bell does not produce a SINGLE repentant heart, which is the ENTIRE point of the Gospel. But I would not suspect you to know much about any real revival....

@Icannottolerateit And what of the men & women who pray unceasingly for world peace, cures for cancer or even just inner peace and don't receive it? Praying for hours on end doesn't produce results. The ideal of praying without ceasing doesn't require one to sit and only speak to God; it encourages us to pray as we do the things in our day to day lives. In your definition, praying is just talking: the very thing you are criticizing. Get your head out of your ass.

@princesasonica I can tell how much a man prays by his results. EVAN ROBERTS prayed hours everyday since he was 13 and look what God gave him the privilege to do, spark a world wide revival. Rob Bell talks more than he prays, this is evidenced by everything he does. When he asks to bow heads he prays for a few minutes.... God's house IS A HOUSE OF PRAYER, NOT PREACHING. What were the apostles doing in the upper room? Preaching? NO! Peter gave one sermon and thousands were converted...

@princesasonica I have read the Bible, and that is where I am "Not in wisdom of words but with power" What power? THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. What power is that? POWER TO CONVICT OF SIN. POWER OF INTERCESSORY PRAYER (the job of the priesthood) Bell talks, talks, talks and his prayers are just little addendums on a lot of talking. His services do not last long into the night. Does he even have a prayer meeting? His prayers affect nothing. No one repents. No one cries. They clap.

@Icannottolerateit As you can see by me telling haters to SHUT UP I am closer to them (one of who is you) than to Rob Bell. But at least I am aware of it and I pray for my transformation so that I become more like Jesus in showing the gifts of the Spirit (1 Co 13, 4-8). So .. God bless you and focus on praying yourself.

@Icannottolerateit Furthermore, Jesus WARNED against the hypocritical habit of showing off and praying to be seen by men (Matthew, 6: 5). In fact, Jesus consistently and all through his ministry warned against the phariseic obsession with the letter of the law and ignoring the content (Matthew 23) Bell seems to follow the essence of Jesus teachings. Those critisising him should shut up and just READ YOUR BIBLES! Eg. Mt 5: 23-24; Ep 4: 32; Col 3, 12-17; Gal 5, 22-23 or 1 Co 13, 4-8

@Icannottolerateit Jesus, the son of God gave us two commandments: 1. Love your God with all your heart, soul and mind AND 2. Love your neighbour as yourself. In addition, he was ALWAYS saying LEAVE THE JUDGING TO GOD. Bell only talks about how much God loves us and how to best live a life that honours God. He NEVER attacks anyone. You, on the contrary, are a) judging :( AND b) not showing much love to a man does certainly honours the Bible. We do not know how much he prays.

@princesasonica I have yet to see him pray for more than a few minutes..... Paul said PRAY without ceasing, not TALK without ceasing. It is obvious, based on how this man speaks and runs church, that he speaks more than he prays.

@tinkandray actually you seem to ignore he is not the first to put these concepts forward. Very respected christians such as C.S. Lewis say similar. In 'The great divorce' (a book on heaven and hell) Lewis writes on a hell where you are tied to your own personal demons, i.e, all those destructive things you indulged in during your life on Earth. Believe me, it sound WORSE than the Hell you seem to like so much with the evil creature with horns.

This man is in DEEP love with God hence his following - wish there were no haters out there trying to rubbish him BUT being full as he is with God he ignored them! As he says in other video: its about being 100% focus on God, singlemindly seeking a way of life that reflects LOVE. Bless you Rob Bell.
