Overcoming Leukemia & Loss / SCOTT & JOEY MURRAY

Joey Murray is a strong kid. At the tender age of 4, Joey was diagnosed with acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, a Cancer of the blood and bone marrow. The tragic nature of his story is that a week after he was diagnosed, his mom, Doretta, suffered a stress seizure. After recovering for 3 weeks, things took an unexpected turn for the worst and her airway collapsed. Sadly, she passed away. As treatment continued for Joey's Cancer, they sensed he was being protected by God. Joey is now 9 years old and is a Cancer survivor. Joey was crowned the 2019 Children's Miracle Network Champion Child. People ask all the time how they got through it. Scott (Joey's father) says they relied on their faith and hope in God and they couldn't have done it any other way.
